Full Moon in Cancer January 2026:

Making Space Before You Begin

Full Moon in Cancer — January 3, 2026

The first Full Moon of 2026 arrives on Saturday, January 3 at 9:03pm AEDT (Sydney), illuminating the sky — and our inner world — through the sign of Cancer.

This is not a Moon for goal-setting or pushing forward.

This is a Moon for making space.

The first Full Moon of the year reminds us that we each have a voice:

to claim what we need,

to release what we are ready to leave behind,

and to trust that letting go is just as powerful as intention-setting.

You are not building anything new yet.

You are opening your hands.

The Medicine of the Full Moon

Full Moons are moments of culmination and release. They illuminate what has been hidden, asking us to clear emotional, energetic, and mental clutter so that we can move forward with clarity.

This Full Moon invites you to release what feels:

• too heavy

• too old

• too small for who you are becoming

Transformation begins not with effort, but with space.

Cancer: Returning to Your Home Frequency

Cancer is ruled by the Moon herself. She governs emotions, intuition, memory, and the nervous system. As a cardinal water sign, Cancer initiates emotional movement — helping us feel, process, and soften.

Water reconnects us to our home frequency — the emotional state where we feel safe, held, and at ease in our bodies. Whether it’s the ocean, a warm bath, or conscious breathing, water teaches us how to settle back into ourselves.

Like the ocean shaping the shoreline, Cancer reminds us that slow, consistent change is powerful. Sometimes we soften. Sometimes we roar. Both are necessary.

Cancer is symbolised by the crab — protected by a hard shell, yet destined to outgrow it. Growth requires vulnerability. There is always a moment between shells where the crab must trust instinct alone.

So too with us.

Ask yourself:

Am I ready to leave my old shell behind?

Is fear of the unknown keeping me small?

Feeling Is the Path to Intuition

This Full Moon heightens emotion and intuition — because they are inseparable.

When we suppress our feelings, we lose access to our inner wisdom.

When we allow ourselves to feel, intuition speaks clearly.

Your emotions are not obstacles.

They are messengers.

Sit with them.

Journal.

Move.

Breathe.

Let tears, sound, or stillness come.

Your feelings contain life force — energy that can be transformed into clarity, creativity, and purpose.

Cancer Moon, Capricorn Sun: Balancing Heart & Purpose

As the Moon moves through Cancer, the Sun shines from Capricorn — Cancer’s opposite sign.

Capricorn grounds us. It teaches commitment, responsibility, and devotion to our life’s work. In its highest expression, Capricorn helps us build structures that protect our sensitivity rather than override it.

This Full Moon highlights the tension many of us feel between:

• rest and responsibility

• emotion and ambition

• nurturing and achieving

You are not meant to choose one over the other.

You are meant to integrate them.

True success includes emotional wellbeing.

Nervous System Care Is Not Optional

Cancer teaches us that self-care is not indulgent — it is essential.

When the nervous system is dysregulated:

• intuition goes quiet

• emotions overwhelm or shut down

• decisions are made from fear, not love

This Moon asks:

What helps me feel safe in my body?

What restores me before I am depleted?

Create a list. Return to it often.

Small acts of care change your entire vibration.

Redefining Success for 2026

This Full Moon invites you to redefine what success truly means.

Notice if productivity has become your measure of worth.

Notice if you override emotions to “get things done.”

Your home frequency — the emotional state you return to again and again — shapes your life more than any goal ever could.

What do you want that frequency to be this year?

Peace?

Ease?

Contentment?

Vitality?

Create your life from there.

Closing Reflection

The Full Moon in Cancer brings deep inner knowing — the kind you feel in your body, not just your mind.

Allow yourself to be restored.

Hold space for all that arises.

Trust the wisdom of your emotional world.

This is sacred work.

This is where transformation begins.

Balancing the Fire Element: Summer Wisdom from TCM & Yin Yoga

Summer invites us into light, warmth, connection and expansion. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), summer is governed by the Fire element — the energy of joy, love, expression and the heart.

It’s the most yang time of the year, when energy naturally rises outward. We feel more social, more expressive, more alive. Yet without balance, Fire can burn too brightly, leaving us feeling restless, scattered, or depleted.

This is where seasonal awareness, Yin Yoga and conscious ritual become powerful allies

 The Fire Element in TCM

Element: Fire

Season: Summer

Organs / Meridians: Heart & Small Intestine

Emotion: Joy

Spirit: Shen (mind / spirit / consciousness)

When Fire is in harmony, we experience:

• Warmth and openness

• Emotional ease

• Clear communication

• A steady, calm joy

When Fire is excessive or depleted, we may notice:

• Anxiety or restlessness

• Insomnia

• Irritability or overwhelm

• Emotional sensitivity or burnout

Summer asks us to celebrate joy, but also to rest wisely.

 Heart & Small Intestine Meridians

The Heart meridian governs blood circulation, emotional balance, and the Shen. It influences our capacity for love, compassion, and presence.

The Small Intestine meridian supports discernment — helping us digest not only food, but experiences, emotions, and information. It teaches us what to keep, and what to release.

Together, these meridians remind us to live with an open heart while maintaining clear boundaries.

Yin Yoga for the Fire Element

Yin Yoga is especially nourishing during summer because it cools, grounds, and balances excess yang energy.

Fire-balancing Yin poses gently open:

• the chest and heart

• shoulders, arms and hands

• neck and jaw

Supportive poses include:

• Supported Heart Bench or Melting Heart

• Puppy Pose with props

• Dragonfly with side bends

• Thread the Needle

• Reclined Butterfly with heart support

• Bananasana

• Gentle neck and jaw releases

Move slowly, stay soft, and breathe into the heart space.

 Lifestyle & Seasonal Rituals

To support Fire energy:

• Balance activity with rest

• Spend time near water — ocean swims, baths, barefoot beach walks

• Connect socially without overcommitting

• Wind down early in the evenings

• Practice gratitude to stabilise joy

 Summer Foods in TCM

Choose cooling, hydrating foods:

• Watermelon, berries, cucumber

• Mint, basil, coriander

• Coconut water, herbal teas

• Light, fresh meals

Limit excess alcohol, spicy foods, and late-night stimulation to protect the heart and sleep.

 Sound Healing & the Heart

Sound healing beautifully calms the Fire element.

Crystal bowls, chimes, rain sticks, mantra and humming help settle the Shen, soften emotions, and create spaciousness in the heart.

 A Summer Intention

“I allow joy to flow through me with ease.

My heart is open, calm, and radiant.”

May this season remind you that joy doesn’t need to be forced — it simply needs space to breathe.

With love,

Kaja

Dear beautiful community,

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to everyone who joined us on Monday night in the wake of the recent Bondi tragedy. It was a deeply difficult time for so many — locally and globally — and it felt incredibly important to simply come together, to breathe, to move gently, and to remember that we are not alone.

What unfolded was a powerful reminder that community itself is medicine. Showing up, lying side by side, allowing sound, stillness and presence to hold us — it was exactly what was needed. I am so grateful to each of you for trusting the space, and for meeting one another with openness, tenderness and care.

Summer Solstice • Solar Power Yin & Flow

Sunday 22 December · 6.30pm · 90 minutes

Summer Solstice Night — the longest day and most potent turning point of the year

On the actual night of the Summer Solstice — the longest day and a powerful energetic threshold — I’m so looking forward to gathering for a special Solar Power Ritual.

This is a potent time on the planet to be open to joy, expansion and our highest potential. A time for body work, energetic work and soul work — to consciously participate in an energetic reset and collective shift.

We all deserve this. And we owe it to ourselves.

This ritual honours the Fire Element, the essence of summer, and the wisdom of Yin Yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

In TCM, the Fire Element governs the Heart and Small Intestine meridians.

  • The Heart invites us to connect with love, joy and light within ourselves.

  • The Small Intestine helps us digest and absorb — not only food, but also the beauty, love and goodness that truly exists in this world.

Where intention goes, energy flows.

We’ve moved through some dark moments recently. This practice is an invitation to consciously turn towards love, light and expansion, holding a gentle flame in our hearts as we begin to seal 2025 with gratitude and transition slowly, intentionally, and compassionately into 2026.

What to Expect

This is an all-levels, inclusive practice, welcoming all bodies and genders.

Our 90-minute Solstice Ritual will include:

  • Gentle Hatha flow & Sun Salutations

  • Yin Yoga & deep release

  • Reiki massage & aromatherapy

  • Guided meditation

  • Sound healing

We always begin by grounding first — allowing the body and nervous system to feel safe, supported and connected to the earth — so that when sound arrives, we are truly able to receive the healing, the insights, and the energetic downloads of this potent solstice moment, here in Australia, on this sacred land.

Emotion in Motion

At this time especially, it’s vital to allow emotion — energy in motion — to move through and out of the body. Through mindful movement, breath and rest, we create space for tension, grief, fear and heaviness to soften and release.

Solar energy has a beautiful way of burning away what no longer serves, melting stuck patterns, and illuminating what’s ready to rise. Last Monday night’s community offering reminded us how powerful it is to keep showing up — for ourselves, and for one another.

Let us continue to flow together. Let us keep choosing connection, kindness and compassion.

The Medicine of Sound, Movement & Grounding — My Story

I often get asked why I weave sound healing into my yoga classes the way I do — why I don’t offer sound journeys on their own, why I always begin with movement, meditation, and pranayama.

So today, I felt called to share a little more of my story — not as an expert or authority, but simply as a woman who loves what she shares.

I never set out to become a “sound healer.” My foundations were always yoga, meditation, massage therapy, reiki and good reggae vibes - that was my jam, and fittingly so being named after a Bob Marley song. That was my rhythm, the path I walked naturally.

But in 2013, something deeply meaningful happened. My mum — who had worked lovingly with sound bowls for many years — passed her full crystal chakra set down to me. No ceremony, no long explanation. She simply handed them over with the kind of quiet wisdom mothers carry. They’d lived in her world for so long, and suddenly, they were placed in mine.

It wasn’t until after I completed my certified 500-hour yoga teacher training — and stepped into my lifelong journey of continued learning — that it clicked:

These bowls weren’t meant to sit on a shelf.

They weren’t meant to be “my mum’s bowls” anymore.

They were meant to be played. Shared. Offered.

And interestingly, my daughter has always gravitated straight toward one of her grandmother’s bowls since she was tiny — almost instinctively, as though the vibration recognises her. It makes me smile knowing that one day, without a doubt, I’ll hand them down to her. A lineage of vibration, healing, and feminine intuition passing from one generation to the next.

Why I Don’t Offer Sound Healing Alone

When I first experimented with playing the bowls at the end of my classes, it felt like something clicked into place. I’m not the teacher who feels called to pull out a guitar or harmonium mid-class — that can be beautiful, but it’s not my lane. And truthfully, I’ve always wondered if for some teachers, specifically a really good male teacher, secretly just love the sound of their own voice. (No shade — just an honest observation!) That’s not me, Ill spare you from mine!

But the bowls…

The bowls felt like home.

Still, even after all these years, sound healing on its own doesn’t land for me personally. I get restless. Fidgety. Ungrounded. And I’ve learned that it’s because sound — as powerful as it is — needs a vessel.

To receive sound healing, your body needs to be open.

To be open, you must be grounded.

And to be grounded, the nervous system must be soothed, the mind must slow, the breath must deepen, and the physical body must be awakened.

This is the gift of yoga.

Movement is preparation.

A moving meditation clears the channels.

Pranayama regulates and softens the energy body.

Meditation opens the inner space for receiving.

Only then is sound healing truly medicine.

The Importance of Grounding — Especially Now

Most people don’t realise how ungrounded they are — overstimulated, overworked, and living in the upper chakras like permanent residents. No wonder sound journeys feel overwhelming or ineffective for some.

Grounding isn’t optional. It’s essential.

It’s the reason Yin, Hatha, breathwork, and mindful movement are woven into everything I offer — not as extras but as the foundation.

Each to Their Own — Always

There are so many incredible sound healers doing their work in their own way. Some people love lying down immediately and drifting into sound without movement. Beautiful — truly. If that works for you, honour it.

But my path is different. I share what I love. I share what works for me. I share what has supported my students over and over again.

And that’s the beauty of this world — many paths, one intention: healing.

Why I Charge Community Rates

Another thing that comes up often is pricing. Some sound healers charge very high rates for sessions, and that’s their choice — again, each to their own.

I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I genuinely prefer to keep my offerings affordable. The world is expensive enough. Healing — genuine healing — shouldn’t be reserved for the few.

I’d rather have more people walk through the door, breathe deeply, soften, and receive, than hold tightly to boutique pricing.

This practice is my passion. My service. My contribution.

This Is My Why

This is my story. This is my grounding.

This is why I teach the way I teach:

movement → breath → meditation → sound.

A whole-body journey back into presence.

Thank you for reading, for receiving, and for walking this path with me.

From my heart to yours,

Kaja
