Sculpture By The Sea 2025

Art In Motion

Wrapped in Art: Reflections from Sculpture by the Sea

As Sculpture by the Sea officially wraps for another year, my heart is full — overflowing with gratitude, inspiration, and awe.

For years, this exhibition has been a source of wonder for me — the way art transforms the coastline, inviting us to see the world through new eyes. This year, it became something even more personal. Through Art in Motion: Yoga by the Ocean, we were able to step inside the art itself — to move with it, breathe with it, and become it.

Each sunrise practice at Gamma Gamma (Tamarama’s original Indigenous name) felt like a living meditation — body, sound, and sculpture in perfect harmony. The ocean sang its eternal rhythm, the wind carried our breath, and the light danced upon the water like a brushstroke of divinity.

To everyone who joined at dawn, who unrolled their mats beside the sea and surrendered to the creative current — thank you. Your presence, your energy, your open hearts turned the sand into sacred ground.

And as the final evening closed with a wild, powerful storm — thunder rolling, waves crashing, the sky illuminated in milkweed light — it felt like nature’s own closing act.

The greatest artist of all reminding us: creation and destruction, stillness and storm, all belong to the same masterpiece.

Art inspires art. Movement meets meaning. And when we flow with nature, we remember that we, too, are creation in motion.

With love, gratitude, and ocean light,

Kaja
