About

I was born in the very north of Norway, and then eventually landed at the opposite end of the World in Sydney, the first beach Bondi, where I teach seaside today.

The ocean has always been a healing place to me and an incredible place to practice and where I often teach my private classes, outdoors, amongst the elements, where I feel most inspired, and I connected to my Viking roots.

I am a trained Actor and Dancer, and first discovered Iyengar Yoga in my tumultuous teens, eventually assisting my Mentor Anne Lewis, in Hatha, Tantra and her incredible Tibetan Rites Program throughout the ’90s. However, it was not until 2013 that I fulfilled my dream and did my 500-hour Teacher Training at Qi Yoga at Freshwater Beach. The training was incredible, and I did not want it to end so I continued with the Zenergy Kids Yoga Program by Lorraine Rushton, Eoin Finn, Yin Yoga with Sarah Owen, Truth Robertson at Power Living, Meditation with Antoinette Sampson, Shakti Durga, my Guru Amma, and the list continues. I thrive on learning, and as a Teacher, the importance of also being a student.

I have also continued to work since 2013 on Sydney's Northern Beaches including Manly FC, CBD corporates, Yoga By the Sea Australia, Bondi Icebergs, Soul Flow Yoga, Sydney Private Yoga, and Sydney Yoga Collective, Bondi Vixen, Dharma Shala, Wylies Baths to name a few. Today I balance Corporate Wellness in the Sydney CBD, with Community classes and events as the Wellness Ambassador at Tamarama Surf Life Saving Club, and founder of Tama Yoga.

I have also taught internationally in England, New Zealand and Norway.

Kaja Troa - Corporate Wellness, Sydney Australia

I am currently balancing corporate classes and events in Sydney’s CBD with Florence Guild, and community classes and events at Tama Yoga at Sydney’s iconic Tamarama & Bondi Beach. I previously spent over a decade as a Wellness Ambassador and one of the original members of the Mental Health Panel at the Reserve Bank of Australia.

l am also a Mother, Public Speaker, Actor, Sound Healer, teach Qi Gong, Pilates, Meditation, and am a Certified Massage and Reiki Therapist.

Yoga has enabled me to find ‘balance in a busy world’, especially balancing my personal passionate schedule! My classes are generally playful, fun, rejuvenating and restorative - though whatever you need them to be.

I am a huge believer in the body being a Temple, and the power of love and nature. When we love and take care of ourselves, and our inner world/ nature, we positively influence the world itself, which is my personal mission. I aim to heal and create positive change on the planet.

Kaja’s talks are authentic, engaging, honest, knowledgeable and not without a healthy ‘sense’ of humour. She really caters to the audience, especially on an intuitive level.

My workshops are a specialised in-depth yoga class, usually exploring a theme, season and objective. If my current list does not cater to your needs, allow me to create one especially for you.

My passion is to share the many benefits, to empower, inspire and nurture the individual or the group collective.
